Revd. Michael McHugh

Born and raised a Christian, I started my training for priesthood in 1977. I trained in Birmingham, London and Toronto. After completing a master’s degree in Divinity, I was ordained deacon in Toronto in 1987 and as a priest in Wimbledon in 1988. I then worked on the Zimbabwe/Mozambique border as Priest-in-Charge of a large mission station.

I took a break from ministry and became a Primary School Teacher, finishing as a Deputy Head before returning to ministry in 2005.

I served a curacy at St Denys in Warminster as a self-supporting minister and continued as a stipendiary curate in Salisbury at St Thomas’. My first incumbency was as a Team Vicar in the Pewsey Vale Team and from there I joined the Savernake Team as Rector in July 2012.
