St. Katharine’s, Savernake Forest

General Information

Set apart in beautiful Savernake Forest this church is the focal point of St Katharine’s hamlet of five houses and the thriving St Katharine’s Primary School. We aim to welcome and serve those in the forest community, and beyond. Services are often traditional, almost always with an organist for hymns. Special days such as Christmas and Easter are particularly well attended, and on the Saturday before Palm Sunday we have a children’s puppet show to tell them the Easter story in a fun way.

Remembrance Sunday brings a full church, and is arranged with meticulous care, often giving attention to the military history of the surrounding area. Our candlelit Christmas Carol Service is supported by the annually convened choir – practices are extremely popular. We value a strong link with St Katharine’s School, whose children use the church regularly. St. Katharine’s church building is very well cared for and we welcome all who come to join us in celebrating Christ’s message.
