St. Michael & All Angels, Shalbourne

The door at St Michael and All Angels’ Church in Shalbourne is always open, highlighting our aim of welcoming everyone to learn about the Christian faith. Visitors have the chance to explore a building used for worship since the 13th century, at any time of day – something clearly appreciated and reflected in the comments book.

General Information

We hold four or five services a month of which two usually include celebrations of Holy Communion, a Family Service and Matins, some occasionally lay-led. After the service we indulge in coffee and biscuits and this gives us the chance to get to know our community better. The village school children get involved with services at Christmas and Easter and with the Leaver's Service, but we are always seeking new ways to encourage young adults and children to become more involved in church life. It is a huge challenge as there are so many competing secular attractions, but a challenge worth taking on.
