Activities & Study Groups
In the Savernake Team, we provide a range of opportunities for people of all ages to learn more about enjoying life together as Christians.
Study and House Groups for Adults
If you would like to find out about the Christian faith, or to deepen your present understanding, you are very welcome to take the Alpha Course, join a Lent Course or House Group or enrol on a Learning for Discipleship course. More details follow. These usually meet on weekday evenings, in various places in the Savernake Team (Learning for Discipleship courses are held at various centres across the diocese).
The Alpha Course
Everyone is very welcome to explore the Christian faith in an informal way through the well-known Alpha Course, held regularly at Burbage. For general information, visit www.alpha.org For local information, contact Janet Hartwell on 01672 515705, or Joyce Kennington on 01672 870478.

Learning for Discipleship
This is a new learning initiative by the diocese of Salisbury. It's an easily accessible way to learn more about the Christian faith and to grow in Discipleship. It comprises a number of courses, each conisiting of ten sessions each of 2 hours. There are no entry requirements (other than an interest in the Christian faith!) and everyone is very welcome. You can enroll on a single course or do as many as you like. Courses are run at a number of centres around the diocese. The aim is to provide interesting and lively courses of study in company with others which are flexible and responsive to the interests and availaibility of all.
Courses runing in the autumn of 2007 include 'The Story of the Church' (an introduction to the 2000 year history of Christianity) and 'Living the Christian Life' (exploring how Christians should put their faith into practice in today's world). Other courses are being developed, including on Bible study and Christian doctrine. Watch this space for more news!
