Improvements To The Church

There is good news about our application to Kennet District Council for a grant towards the new WC and tea making facilities in the Church. It has been approved in the sum of £19,910 and represents 40% of the total cost of £49,775. The balance will be covered by a generous grant of £12,000 from the Francis Wilson Trust and by funds accumulated by the Parochial Church Council, and the work is due to be completed later this year. This is a project which has been under consideration and an aspiration of the PCC for many years, and will mean that the Church will now be able to provide long overdue facilities in line with modern requirements for a wide range of cultural and entertainment functions open to the whole community, in addition to normal religious Services.

We wish to express our thanks to Kennet District Council and the Francis Wilson Trust for their generous support of this project which will be of great benefit to Collingbourne Kingston.

The work is now well advanced, and should be completed by the end of July. The Archdeacon of Wilts, the Venerable John Wraw, is due to attend the Family Service on 3rd August when we will be celebrating the completion of this major project.
