Friends of Froxfield

Annual General Meeting Tuesday 22nd April 11.00 at Froxfield Village Hall followed by soup and sandwiches. New Friends would be very welcome. For more information please contact Ann or Susan

The Friends raise money to provide extra amenities at the Brendoncare Home.  They also complement the work of the staff and relatives by providing friendship, fresh flowers, help in the garden, a trolley shop, outings, birthday presents and outings.

We are always looking for more voluntary help to maintain a consistent level of support.  If you can spare a little time please email the Chairman, Ann Gibb, at ann.gibb1@btinternet.com

Ruth Lee is an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator who arranges individual and group activities.  Last year the Flower Show and Exhibition of Memorabilia were particularly stimulating.  Ruth drives the Chain minibus for outings which included a picnic in Savernake Forest on a glorious day and a Christmas Lunch at the Tutti Pole. 

All the residents benefit enormously from a change of environment and an opportunity to meet new people.  There is a very positive and cheerful atmosphere in the Home which residents and their families appreciate.

2006 has been a good year.Ruth Lee,Activity Coordinator,deserves a mention for her patience and enthusiasm with individual and group activities.The Flower Show and Exhibition of memorabilia were particularly memorable.

Ruth now drives the bus for our outings,which have been much enjoyed once the residents are safely aboard.A picnic in Savernake Forest on a glorious afternoon,and a Christmas lunch at the Tutti Pole were two of the highlights.

As ever we would like more volunteers to help with the garden,flowers,birthdays,driving,trolley shop and outings.For more information,please ask at Brendoncare or ring the chairman.

While on the subject of volunteers,Kathy Handby,secretary,completes her three years in March and we are looking for a new committee member to take over as secretary.The committee meets four or five times a year at Brendoncare on a weekday morning from 10.00 to 11.45,so it is not too onerous a task.

Constance Golding,the Ramsbury representative,is having to take a few months off and help from Ramsbury would be greatly appreciated.

We shall miss Kathy and Constance..
