Men’s Group Dads and Kids Camp-Out
On Friday September 7, 2007, thirteen men from the church, and an equal number of children, gather for an evening of fun, food and fellowship in Tidcombe. It is a lovely spot for a camp-out. |

Ralph brings several tents, including some that had not been used in a while.
No camp is complete without a fire and Justin soon has one blazing. The kids help set up the tents and poke the fire. |
Anna knows the ropes and helps her Dad. |

Hey, Dad, this is fun!
Setting up camp is hungry work. Fortunately, the barbecue is hot and the food is filling the campsite with tempting aromas. |
Richard checks the venison, and it is delicious. |

Peter is surprised with a frying pan in his hands. |
In no time the feast is ready. Who says men can’t cook? |

Andrew dishes up food for Chris and soon all the kids are satisfied. |
Most of all, the kids have fun. This is definitely not “Boring!” |

The Dads too are relaxed and enjoying the fellowship. |
Later, as it grows dark, Eddie sets up his magnificent telescope, and we have a stunning view of Jupiter and its four moons. |

No camp is complete without campfire songs and roasted marshmallows, and we have plenty of both. |
Our time together ends with breakfast cooked on the fire. What a treat! The Men’s Group hopes that our camp out will become a regular fixture on the church calendar. Thanks to all involved, especially Ralph who did most of the work. |
