For the first time this year all the trees sold were sourced from UK growers ensuring that the impact on the environment through transportation was reduced and therefore mininizing our carbon footprint. This also meant that as the trees were cut later, our trees still looked fresh even when they were brought back for recycling.

At the point of sale each customer was given a tag to attatch to their tree and to remind them of the free tree recycling which took place on January 9th .

Due to the exceptionally cold weather, a good covering of snow and Ice on the roads, some inginuity was used by some to transport their tree for recycling.

From 10:00am until 2:00pm on a bitterly cold morning, Simon Last and his brother provided the plant and labour to turn the trees into mulch.
