We are anxious to add new names to the flower rota, as several people are no longer able to do the church flowers. You do not need to be an expert in flower arranging - simply able to give a little of your time to make the church look welcoming and pretty. If you think you can do this, please contact Melanie Melsom (668389).

Ham Parish Lunch

This was held on Sunday 12 June 2011 at South House, Ham by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Andrew Melsom. 130 attended despite the rain and many thanks are due to the stalwart band of helpers.

Harvest Supper

This was held on Saturday 29 October 2011 in the Village Hall and it was a full house. Edmund Rouse provided a fiendish quiz which was much enjoyed and many thanks to the team of cooks and helpers who made the evening a great success.

Church News

The Annual Churchyard Tidy Up took place on Saturday 17th March with a record turnout of 19 pairs of willing hands who hacked, pruned, weeded, gathered and bonfired outside and dusted, swept, polished and spring cleaned inside. The grass then had its first cut of the year later in the week so everything looks very shipshape. Well done everyone!

The Annual PCC AGM took place on Friday 30 March at 7pm in the Village Hall.

Carol singing on the Village Green took place on Friday 16 December 2011 and £133 was raised for Help for Heroes.

The three replacement cherry trees have now been planted in the churchyard to mark the Royal Wedding.

The history of Ham's All Saints Church - Robin Buchanan-Dunlop gave a fascinating talk in June 2010 beginning with the year 931 and concluding with the Restoration in 1660. Roll on Part 2!

Ham History Project

Robin Buchanan-Dunlop published his new book on the history of Ham on 8 December in time for all those Christmas stockings! He also gave a fascinating talk on the Village of Ham in the Middle Ages at the Hungerford Historical Association on Wednesday 28 March.

Contact Susie Eldridge (668495) for more info on Ham researches and help.

Ham Parish Walk

It was a gloriously sunny autumn day and the walkers enjoyed a refreshing and welcome halfway pit stop watching the harvest being safely gathered in. Thanks to Ron Forbes for organising and to Paul Clarke for allowing us to walk the farm track from Hill House to the Lodge.

Village Hall

Saturday 12 May is the next date for the Village Hall clean up. A second coat of paint inside and an exterior coat of preservative is on the agenda.

Please contact Mary Davenport (01488 668287/ markandmarydavenport@gmail.com) if you are available to help.

The committee would be pleased to hear from anyone who might be interested in using the hall, which has been very well maintained.  Please contact Charmaine Dean on 668270 for information.

On that note we would be glad to hear from anyone in the village who would be interested in joining the committee. We meet only around five to six times a year, and our main responsibility, aside from keeping the hall ticking over, is to organise the annual Harvest Supper. Please ask anyone on the committee if you would like to know more. Contact Mary Davenport on 01488 668287.
